Well we’ve made it to the end of a busy busy week and we couldn’t have done it without you. The support we’ve received and the generosity from members of the community and local businesses has been more than we could ever have expected.
We’re so grateful to all the local residents who have donated food and money and given so generously of their time to help us out. A big thank you to our volunteer van drivers, to Marion Watson who came into today to help make up parcels and to all the Pubwatch members whose staff have offered to volunteer.
We’d like to thank everyone who has donated food and money over the last few weeks, it is much need and will help feed the most vulnerable members of our community.
We’ve also received so much support from local businesses including Arnold Clark who helped out with a van, B n Q who gave us a carpet cleaner to help us get our new community hub up and running, Bridgend Garage for the offer of a van, Kilmarnock Football Club who popped in to see us with a food donation, McCluskey Browne, Tesco, ASDA, Morrison’s and Marks and Spencers and QTS.
Thank you to all the businesses who showed such compassion in the face of their own desperate situation, a number of pubs and restaurants have very generously donated food when they’ve been forced to close their doors to wait out this crisis. Our thoughts and best wishes are with every single one of you.
A big thank you is also due to our partners within East Ayrshire Council.
I would just like to finish by saying the biggest thank you of all to our regular Foodbank volunteers who have supported us so ably over the years. It was very sad to see the local centres close but it was the best decision given the challenges we face. It’s been a pleasure to know every one of you and we look forward to seeing some of you at the Foodbank delivery centre and WG13.
I’m sorry if we’ve missed anyone out, we will gradually work our way through the list of people we owe so much to.
We will keep on posting about all the wonderful support we are receiving.
