PROBATE 🤔 .. How many times do I hear ….
“I’ve heard of it, but I don’t really know what it is?”
Probate is the process of distributing a deceased persons estate, and this is usually the responsibility of the Executors to sort. Executors are usually your children or very close loved ones. Which means they are left with:
- Closing down bank accounts
- Cashing in Life Insurance policies
- Emptying a house
- Selling the family home
- Dealing with family
- Fulfilling the wishes in the Will
And so much more.
But as executors are usually ‘the children’, this means even with a great Will, you are leaving your kids with a tough, long drawn out, costly experience when you go. As whether you die with OR without a Will, and you own a house in the UK - PROBATE WILL STILL BE NEEDED.
The only way to make life easier for your children when the time comes, is to prioritise a little bit of time to set up some good planning now, to save a lots of money, stress and heartache later on 💔
Of course, there are numerous other benefits to having a Trust, but one of the main reasons for almost all of my own clients - making life as easy as possible for the kids when we go 🕊️
And I whole heartedly support & agree with this type of planning for families who love each other the way I do mine, and want to protect each other at all costs.
