A valid passport isn't always enough.
People often check the expiry date and assume everything is fine, but there are a few other things worth looking at before you travel.
Some of the most common issues we come across include:
• Not having enough passport validity for the country you're visiting
• The name on the booking not matching the name in the passport
• Passport damage, including tears, water damage or missing pages
• Not having enough blank pages for visas or entry stamps
• Older UK passports that were issued with more than 10 years' validity not meeting a destination's entry requirements
• British citizens travelling to the UK on a non-British passport without checking the requirements beforehand
Most of these checks only take a few minutes.
It's time well spent if it helps avoid problems at the airport.
