What would happen if you could no longer make decisions for yourself due to circumstances beyond your control?

If you are concerned about what might happen to you if you lose the ability to make health and care decisions for yourself, you might want to consider setting up a health and welfare-lasting power of attorney (LPA).

This is a legal document that allows you to appoint one or more people (called attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf when you are no longer able to do so, leaving the decision-making to people you love and trust.

Partner and Head of Wills, Trusts and Estates Emma Woollard discusses what a health and welfare LPA covers and the benefits of this giving you more control of your future.
