Tattoos are increasingly popular and culturally significant. Services now exist in England and Wales that allow individuals to preserve their tattoos after death so that they can be gifted to loved ones.

This is a completely new legal issue and as a result the law surrounding it is uncertain. There is currently no guidance from the court or elsewhere for practitioners faced with this issue.
