Nev brings 20 years of specialist experience in company and commercial law, gained at leading international firms in London and across Yorkshire. His experience covers the full range of company issues from advising founders on setting up their businesses and obtaining investment, through reorganisations and succession planning, to exits whether by sales to trade buyers, private equity investors or employee ownership trusts.

Lauren has officially hit the 12 month mark at Holden Smith - and what a year it’s been! From settling into her conveyancing role to completing her Level 4 CLC Conveyancing Technician qualification, Lauren’s growth has been nothing short of impressive.

Here’s what she had to say about her journey so far:

“The past 12 months in my conveyancing role have been incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned so much, grown both professionally and personally, and gained valuable experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. What makes it even better is the amazing Crossgates team I get to work with every day—supportive, knowledgeable colleagues who make even the busiest days enjoyable. Holden Smith is now proudly an EOT. 🙌🏻
Following our exciting announcement earlier this week, we’re taking a moment to share what this actually means - for our team, our clients, and the future of the firm.

We’ve transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust, which means the business is now held on trust for the benefit of our employees.

Clients can continue to expect the same high-quality legal services, with added benefits from increased employee engagement enhancing overall service delivery. This move strengthens our commitment to delivering the same trusted, straight-talking service we’re known for. The existing leadership will remain the same with a newly appointed EOT board.

For our people, it means having a real stake in the future of Holden Smith. It’s a long-term decision to protect our culture, values, and independence as we continue to grow.
