Oliver Farmer, one of the newest Partners of the firm, joined us as a Trainee after achieving not just a first-class honour in LLB Law at University, but also a Distinction in his Masters in Law. Oliver qualified as a Solicitor in 2024 and as he approaches his fourth year with the firm, he reflects on what makes his work so rewarding and his thoughts on stepping into the role of Partner:
“I am truly honoured to be joining the Partnership. This firm has always stood out to me for its integrity, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to clients. What I value most is the way our teams support one another—sharing ideas openly, tackling challenges together, and celebrating each other’s successes.
As a Solicitor within the Property and Commercial Department, I particularly enjoy the variety and complexity of the work I undertake. Every matter presents its own unique considerations, and I value the opportunity to apply clear legal analysis to help clients achieve practical and commercially sound outcomes. I take satisfaction in guiding clients through the process, simplifying technical issues and ensuring they feel supported and informed at every stage. Property work often involves tight timescales and multiple parties, and I enjoy the collaborative aspect of bringing all elements together to complete a matter smoothly and efficiently. I also appreciate the balance between problem solving and client care. I like being able to anticipate issues before they arise, negotiate solutions, and help safeguard my clients’ interests. The role allows me to build strong relationships with clients, agents, and other professionals, and I find it rewarding to see transactions complete knowing that my work has directly contributed to a successful outcome.
As a Partner, I’m excited to contribute to the firm’s continued growth and to play a part in shaping the future of a firm that has played a huge role in the local area over many years”.
Congratulations, Oliver!
