What is “Lasting Power of Attorney”?

If you are unable to manage your affairs, i.e. if you were to lose mental capacity or, if you no longer want to make decisions for yourself, an LPA appoints someone of your choice to handle your affairs, on your behalf.

Without an LPA, any bank account you or a family member hold, can become severely restricted, which can be devastating, especially if the owner has a pension paid into this account or the account is used to pay monthly bills.

Take action ahead of time by minimising stress and maximising support for your loved ones.
