Significant changes to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) have been introduced from 6 April 2026, expanding eligibility and altering how payments are calculated. Under fire safety legislation, a โ€˜suitable & sufficientโ€™ Fire Risk Assessment must be maintained for all commercial premises. Compliance is not achieved simply by holding a document on file; it must remain current and reflective of the premises as they exist today.

A review should be undertaken where material changes occur, including structural alterations, changes in layout or use, increased occupancy, new equipment or processes, or following a fire incident or near miss.
