I took time out as I needed to heal from the Trauma of my Separation. A cohabitation of 15 years, we were married just no ceremony. It was a journey, still is, in some ways, taking me through my childhood unresolved trauma. I'm so glad I did, otherwise, I would have been projecting my own pain of the divorce/separation onto clients and that is not healthy nor beneficial for a client.

I'm now also trained as a Coach, in embodied parts work which incorporates Somatic Experiencing, and training in Neuroaffective Touch.

This article explores the emotional trauma of divorce and how authentic healing requires presence, not pressure to move on.

Whilst this is sweet on the surface. I am concerned this is emotional caretaking by his daughter. There can be a pattern that is created where a child takes care of the needs of a parent to get their needs me. I wonder whether it is the child that needs the reassurance that her father will be there forever and always? 🫶
