Wow - last Tuesday’s webinar with AI4SEN was BRILLIANT! I loved it.

I took my younger son to the annual Paper Boat Race at Elstead Moat and Thursley Common last month.

It was amazing to see the time and dedication that went into building and crafting the array of seaworthy vessels… and also hoping they stayed in one piece as I didn't fancy having to wade in on a rescue mission!

It reminded me of how business owners like you put so much thought and time into crafting your services. That’s why it’s so important to check you have all the right materials to help you set up legally and without sinking.

Are you aware of the new changes around consent being brought in for cookie usage? 🍪

The UK’s new Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) has introduced the following changes:

✅ You can now set certain low-risk cookies - like those used for anonymous analytics or to improve your website’s functionality - without needing users’ prior consent.

✅The transparency requirement remains unchanged, so be wary that:

You must tell users what cookies you use and why.
You should provide a clear opt-out option.
Consent is still required for advertising or tracking cookies.

✅The potential fine has also been increased to match UK GDPR, of up to £17.5 million or 4% of global turnover.

If your business also targets EU users, the above unfortunately doesn't apply, and consent is still required for all non-essential cookies.

This is good for business owners overall because the requirements have been reduced slightly - but it also means you will need to update your cookie policy.
