🚨 The recent National Learning Report published by the Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations (MSNI) reviewed 92 investigation and identified key areas needing improvement in midwifery-led units.
Issues include:
- work overload,
- inappropriate intermittent fetal heart monitoring,
- lack of readiness for critical incidents
- inconsistent telephone triage advice.
The report calls for better interdisciplinary collaboration, continuous staff training, and a culture of transparency.
