With exam results week here, it can feel like everything depends on a few pieces of paper. But it doesnโ€™t.

Not everyone in our team started with top grades, a clear plan, or a straight road into law โ€” and thatโ€™s exactly the point.

One of our trainee solicitors left school at 16 with no qualifications other than a grade in drama (could come in useful for future court appearances!). Today, theyโ€™re building a legal career.

We are currently entering an exciting phase of growth. As part of our continued expansion, we are in the process of bringing another established firm into the Mathie Lennox & Co. group. We are now seeking a motivated Newly Qualified Solicitor or Solicitor with up to 3 yearsโ€™ PQE to join our team.

* Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision

* Building relationships with clients and professional contacts

* Qualified Solicitor (Scotland) with 0โ€“3 yearsโ€™ PQE, preferably experience in conveyancing and/or private client work
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive and adaptable approach
* Willingness to work across two office locations

๐‹๐ˆ๐’๐€ ๐๐”๐ˆ๐๐ has been promoted to Senior Conveyancing Paralegal and has gained Law Society Accreditation status now. Lisa is a phenomenal asset to Mathie Lennox & Co and well deserving of this promotion. This promotion is a reflection of Lisaโ€™s hard work and dedication to the firm and her commitment to delivering first class service to our clients.

In her new role, she takes on a supervisory position in helping lead the conveyancing team, providing guidance and support to those within and ensuring the smooth running of all transactions. Her work has not gone unnoticed and we know she will continue to thrive as she moves forward in her new role.

๐Ž๐‹๐ˆ๐•๐ˆ๐€ ๐๐”๐ˆ๐๐ now progresses to the role of Trainee Solicitor (Pre-PEAT), following her success in her apprenticeship and paralegal qualification. Olivia has learned so much in her 4 years working at the firm and has shown a real drive to further her career in law. She loves learning on the job and constantly asks questions to gain more in depth knowledge of the work sheโ€™s involved in.

This progression is a result of her exceptional work, thirst for knowledge and commitment to both learning and providing high-quality work to assist the services offered to clients. This next step is a natural progression on her career journey to becoming a fully qualified solicitor. In her new role, as Trainee solicitor (Pre-PEAT), she can begin to establish her own case load while continuing to assist on all other matters under the supervision of the Partners - all while studying and passing exams. Olivia is true proof that not all people thrive in academic educational settings but, through alternative routes and with the right people behind her believing in her potential, she can still enter an amazing profession.
