On Friday 13th we had dinner in the Merchants House for the partners and consultants who have retired from Mitchells Roberton in recent years. These include Donald Reid, Hugh Grant, James Marr (not pictured) and Ian Ferguson.

We have decided not to send Christmas Cards this year and instead we are making a donation to The Corra Foundation’s Household Hardship Fund, a Scottish charity which supports families and individual on low income with cash or vouchers to cover food, fuel, household items and clothing.

This winter it is working alongside the GIVE400.scot campaign launched to help tackle fuel poverty and the cost-of-living crisis in Scotland.

Julianna Keenan has now successfully completed her traineeship and is now a fully qualified solicitor with us here at Mitchells Roberton.

We thank Julianna for her hard work and commitment throughout her traineeship and are delighted she will be continuing her legal career with us. She will continue in our court department where she has found her feet after a move from private client.

Mitchells Roberton Hosts Commercial Law Group Conference

Mitchells Roberton, the Scottish member firm of Commercial Law Group, proudly hosted the Commercial Law Group Conference in Glasgow from 21 to 23 October.

The Commercial Law Group has members in most European countries, as well as in Asia, various states in USA, Mexico and South Africa, and provides seamless co-operation in cross border transactions and litigation.

The Conference was well attended and started with a reception in the firm’s recently refurbished office in Glasgow and opening dinner; the business meeting was held on 22nd October and included a talk on International Arbitration given by Brandon Malone of the Scottish Arbitration Centre. The closing dinner was held at the Royal Faculty of Procurators building in Glasgow.

On 20 October 2022 Euan David lost his battle with cancer which had been fought bravely and without complaint. He was 64.

Euan was a lawyer for over 40 years of which he spent 25 with Mitchells Roberton. He will be sorely missed by us all and we extend our good wishes to his family.
