👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Can a court order be changed without going back to court?

Life changes. Children's needs evolve, work patterns shift, and arrangements that once worked may no longer be practical.

In her latest blog, experienced family law solicitor, Rachel Lander, explains when parents may be able to agree changes to child arrangements without returning to court, and when a formal court application may still be necessary.

The blog covers:

✔️ Child arrangements orders
✔️ Mediation and alternative solutions
✔️ When court approval is needed
✔️ The risks of ignoring a court order
✔️ How a family solicitor can help

When parents separate, decisions about children can be some of the most challenging and emotional issues they face.

Experienced family law solicitor, Arzu Lone, has been featured in The Divorce Magazine, explaining the new Pathfinder Process (now known as Child Focused Courts) and what it means for parents navigating child arrangements through the family courts.

The article provides practical guidance on the Child Impact Report, how children are involved in the process, and how parents can approach proceedings in a way that keeps their child's needs at the centre.

🔍 Can a divorce financial settlement be reopened?

Many people believe that once a divorce settlement is finalised, there is no way to revisit it. In most cases, that's true, but there are important exceptions.

A financial settlement may be challenged if there is evidence of:

✔️ Hidden assets
✔️ Fraud or dishonesty
✔️ Significant non-disclosure
✔️ A major unforeseen change in circumstances (known as a Barder event)
✔️ A mistake that affected the agreement

It's important to know that simply feeling the outcome was unfair is usually not enough. The court will only reconsider a settlement in exceptional circumstances and where strong evidence exists.

If you've discovered information that wasn't disclosed during your divorce, or your circumstances have changed dramatically since the order was made, you may have options.

Read our latest article covering can a divorce settlement be reopened, written by experienced divorce and family solicitor, Sanjay Solanki: https://www.family-lawfirm.co.uk/blog/can-a-divorce-settlement-be-reopened/
