Inghams Solicitors

Inghams Solicitors Inghams has been providing tailored and affordable legal services to the Fylde Coast community since

Inghams is one of the leading firms of solicitors on the Fylde Coast and has been serving the local community for 80 years. The firm was founded in 1937 when Charles Ingham first opened an office on Talbot Road in Blackpool. The business later moved to Topping Street and then Leopold Grove. The growth of the practice was interrupted only by the Second World War when Charles Ingham joined the army,

rising to the rank of major and taking part in the North African and Italian campaigns. After the war the practice expanded with the addition of a young Royal Artillery captain, Walter Clegg, who had qualified as a solicitor by a correspondence course conducted from a German prisoner of war camp. Walter, who was later knighted after many years service as an MP for North Fylde, opened the Fleetwood branch in the early 1950’s on North Albert Street, where it still exists today. John Crowther, who had been a fighter pilot in the war and who, like Sir Walter, had been captured by the Germans, then also joined the partnership. As Ingham, Clegg and Crowther, the firm saw rapid growth throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s into a large and broadly based legal practice. In 2000 a new look for the new millennium was introduced and the firm name shortened to Inghams in tribute to its founder, Charles Ingham. Today Inghams has 7 partners and consultants and 40 staff across 4 offices in Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Bispham, and Poulton-le-Fylde. The firm offers a complete range of legal services to commercial and individual clients, drawing on the expert knowledge of an Inghams team that is friendly, flexible and highly professional. Inghams has specialists in many areas of the law including property lawyers, Resolution-accredited family law solicitors, STEP affiliated wills and probate solicitors and personal injury solicitors who are members of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. As well as this we offer a comprehensive conveyancing service if you are buying or selling property, and can assist on any property matter. We can also arrange public funding at several of our branches and offer a “no win, no fee” arrangement for personal injuries, accidents, negligence and other types of legal disputes. Traditional values of personal service and client care at Inghams have brought success for the firm and its clients over eight decades and remain the cornerstone of the practice. When coupled with a progressive and dynamic approach, these core values ensure Inghams is always ready to quickly adapt to the ever changing legal world and the needs and requirements of its clients.
