The Court expects you to preserve evidence. Even if it doesn’t help you

So please, take it from us, destroying anything (or for that matter altering any evidence in any way - even scribbling on it) is a bad move

It’s official! This year at Royal Cornwall Show competitors will be taking part in the Stutt Associates Inter Hunt Relay

Lisa and Lee will be there to soak up the atmosphere over the three days and to follow the competition

Kindly supported by Stutt Associates, the Inter Hunt Relay brings together local hunt teams in a relay competition format as part of the Royal Cornwall Show.

Teams progress through a series of heats, with the final taking place on Saturday, where competitors come together for a display of skill, timing and teamwork in the Main Ring.

A long standing part of the show programme and an established part of the Main Ring schedule.

So proud of our Lisa Haywood taking part in the Cornish Pirates Rugby Football Club and Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Ladies Day

Here she talks about how women in the Duchy (including her) are doing a great job leading the wonderful businesses we have here, but that we have more work to be done to fully include women in business and to give the seats at the table we really need to keep diversity moving forward

The celebrations continue for us this week as we've just heard we've been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best New Business Award in The Best SME Awards 2026

So off to Daventry we go for the final in April - black tie again so looks like Lisa Haywood will have to source some more sequins

THIS IS HUGE

As we focus on growth, we’ve made a bold move to strengthen the breadth and volume of work we can cover by bringing in Lee Stutt to join us as consultant

He is probably the most experienced Commercial Property Disputes lawyer in the County and has several leading authorities under his belt in a range of areas

He even had a cameo (though not in name) as predecessor lawyer in a recent case that examined reasonable refusal to mediate (spoiler: his tactics were sound and the refusal was considered reasonable)

He’ll continue to offer mediation through Proper Mediation, but that adds another bow to our armoury for finding the solution that works best for you

He’s already been working his magic on a few cases but is always happy to hear from you so please pick up the phone

This has been the icing on the cake of a great first year in business

On Friday night, at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth Lisa picked up the trophy for the Start-Up Business of the Year at the West Country Women Awards 2025

This makes us the start-up business of the year for the entire West Country

Being a one-woman law firm in Falmouth this is huge for us and shows that there is always space within every industry to do things in a creative, unique or different way

Our approach is a fresh way of offering and performing legal services, championing accessibility, flexibility and education around the legal sector and how things could be done better for the benefit of everyone

We are so proud of Lisa’s achievements and are really very excited to see what the next year brings

West Country Women is an organisation that champions women, lifting and empowering them to be the best they can be. By supporting each other everyone is allowed the freedom to grow and flourish.
