Sourcing like for like materials can be really tricky when trying to fill in something like a gap in a skirting board where a gas fire used to be.

Not 100% faithful to the existing skirting board, but with a coat of paint it should look close enough that it doesn't attract the eye.

The customer has someone else scheduled to paint the room, so I'm looking forward to when she next has me back to see how well it blends into the room once decorated.

I took a week for myself in July; it became a bus man's holiday as I built a covered deck for my wife and I.

I really enjoy building decking and pergola, however during the second week of July we had 34 degree heat! Safe to say I was absolutely melting that week whilst I was working outside on this.

We're both really pleased with the result and we have eaten dinner out here every night we have been home since.

It has brought a whole new dynamic to how we live in our home, and we are hoping that having a cover over it means we can enjoy it into the autumn and starting in spring as well.

This one is a bit like spot the difference!

I replaced the guttering on this conservatory for this customer as it had many leaks and had gone brittle over time.

I tried to maintain the original look of the guttering as best I could.

The customer is really pleased with the result and is looking forward to having some rain to test it out!

I was asked by a repeat customer to fit an awning to the rear of their home to shield there living room from the heat of the sun.

I got the brackets mounted to the wall with the aid of my laser level and tripod before the husband of the household assisted me in lifting the awning up onto the brackets due to the weight, nearly 40kgs!

Once it was secured to the wall, I adjusted the angle to raise the height of the awning when extended and buttoned everything up.

They're chuffed with the install and will benefit from it for the rest of the summer.

The old shower enclosure that was in place when I arrived had broken door wheels due to the bearings rusting, possibly due to lack of cleaning by the previous tenant.

The landlord opted to replace the whole enclosure instead of just replacing the wheels, in fairness, the cost of the spare parts online was comparable to a new enclosure!

As you can see, I set to replacing it and the current tenant now has a fully operational, and watertight shower enclosure.

Another return customer. Having replaced his gate post a couple of months ago, I came back to replace the timber detailing above his front wall.

The existing timber had lived its life and it was time to recreate the look with fresh treated timber.

The customer chose to paint it himself to save money, which is absolutely fine by me; I'm happy to work within all budgets and just do what you need me to do.

If you can do part of the job, I'll do the bit you can't and let you get on with the rest in your own time.

Having installed a couple of water butts for this customer, they asked me to build a gate at the side of their home.

So I set to it! I installed a couple of wooden posts into the ground, attached a premade gate and finished it off with a couple of lengths of feather edge fencing.

Quick, simple, effective. Another happy customer.

A quick transformation for this garage access door.
The centre cladding had rotten over time, so I stripped it off, replaced it with treated cladding and gave it a lick of black paint.

The threshold had also rotten away, along with a the bottom of the door frame each side.
I inserted some fresh timber into the bottom of the door frame, and created a new threshold too.

The customer was over the moon with the repairs, and as is becoming common, booked me in for a future date to come back and do some more work elsewhere in her home.

This customer wanted to swap out their aged wooden cladding for Upvc so she never needed to worry about it rotting again...

This customer wanted to swap out their aged wooden cladding for Upvc so she never needed to worry about it rotting again in the future.
I set to taking down the existing, front and rear, removed all the rogue nails left behind and then put up the Upvc in a similar style as was already there.
She was thrilled with the end result.
