With a distinguished career in employment law, Malcolm has combined legal expertise with entrepreneurship and business leadership, advising organisations on complex employment and workplace matters in Scotland and beyond.

LAWYER OF THE YEAR 2026 – AIDAN O’NEILL KC

We are delighted to announce Aidan O’Neill KC as the recipient of the Lawyer of the Year Award at the Scottish Legal Awards 2026.

A highly respected advocate with a career spanning almost four decades, Aidan is recognised for his exceptional legal expertise and distinguished record of advocacy across constitutional, human rights, EU and public law.

The award also recognises his significant recent legal work, including his successful advocacy before the UK Supreme Court in the For Women Scotland case and a successful judicial review concerning transgender prisoner guidance, which has subsequently impacted government policy.

Aidan will be presented with the award at the Scottish Legal Awards dinner on Thursday 17 September 2026 at DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow Central.
