Last night, MFMac was proud to co-host an inspiring panel event with Scottish Women’s Football in celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 and its theme, Give to Gain.

Our network of clients, partners and community stakeholders heard insights and experiences from Aileen Campbell and Shelley Kerr – two trailblazers in the world of sport and leadership. Their reflections on visibility, resilience and creating opportunities for others highlighted how progress in the women’s game has been built and why continued investment in people, pathways and facilities remains essential. From early barriers to the momentum in the women’s game today, Shelley and Aileen’s stories highlighted the impact that giving your time, voice and experience can have in supporting others – and the game – to thrive.

MFMac is committed to supporting the people and communities driving the women’s game forward, and our Official Legal Partnership with reflects our dedication to ensuring today’s efforts open doors for the next generation.

A huge thank you to panel chair Jenny Dickson, to Aileen and Shelley for dedicating their time to share their stories, and to all of our clients, partners and colleagues for joining us and contributing to this fascinating discussion.

These sessions featured colleagues sharing practical insights as both mentors and mentees, reflecting this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” and highlighting the value of shared knowledge and support across MFMac.

Inheritance Tax reforms: what they mean for Scotland’s farming families

Scotland’s farming community has spent the past year navigating evolving proposals on Inheritance Tax. Recent updates provide much needed relief, particularly for family farms that had been facing a significant tax burden.

Although the increased allowances ease pressure, they should not pause essential conversations about qualifying assets, diversified activities and long‑term succession plans. The recent uncertainty has underlined how important it is for farming families to understand their position and prepare for the future.

In his latest article, Jack Kerr, Partner at MFMac, explains what the reforms mean in practice and why careful planning remains essential.
