There has been no cost to bring a claim to employment tribunal since 2017, but is that set to change?

In 2017 the Supreme Court ruled that the government’s approach to fees in the employment tribunal was unlawful. Since then, it has been free for individuals to put forward an employment tribunal claim, but the government has recently begun a consultation regarding the reintroduction of these fees.

This case concluded that it was pregnancy discrimination to attempt to force a teacher back to school during COVID.

The Claimant worked for the Respondent as a primary school teacher from 2011. The Claimant discovered that she was pregnant in June of 2020 and informed the school. The Claimant discussed her worries around being infected with COVID with the headteacher.
