Does joint PRR mean equal time?

Not necessarily. Joint Parental Responsibilities and Rights (PRRs) mean both parents have a say in key decisions like education and healthcare, but it doesn’t guarantee equal time with the child.

I'm here to help you find the right balance ⚖️

When it comes to surrogacy, having the right legal advice is essential. The mother automatically gains parental rights when the child is born, and if she’s married, her husband does too. However, intended parents will need to secure their own parental rights to become the legal parents of the child.

If the baby isn’t handed over, the surrogacy arrangement can’t be enforced, leading to costly and complex legal challenges. That’s why expert legal guidance is crucial to ensure everything is in place and all parties are protected. Planning ahead helps avoid risks and ensures a smoother journey.

Ignoring divorce papers won’t make them go away ❌ 📝

If you don’t respond, your spouse can apply for a decree of divorce without your input, and the court may grant it based on their terms.

This could impact your financial settlement, property, and even child arrangements.

If you’ve received divorce papers, it’s important to act quickly. Even if you don’t agree with everything, getting legal advice ensures your rights are protected 🛡️

Social media can play a big role in your divorce case, often in ways you might not expect. What you post online—whether it’s about your emotions, your finances, or even a new relationship—could be used against you in court.

It’s important to be mindful of your posts during this time. Even private messages or photos can be accessed and might impact decisions regarding assets, custody, or alimony.

Always think before you share, and consult with a lawyer before making any posts that could affect your case. I'm here to help guide you through this sensitive process.

A Non-Harassment Order (NHO) is a legal order that protects you from unwanted or abusive behaviour, whether from an ex-partner, family member, or anyone else.

It prevents someone from contacting you, showing up at your home or work, or engaging in any form of harassment.

If you're feeling unsafe or harassed, an NHO could provide the protection and peace of mind you need. You don’t have to face this alone—I’m here to guide you through every step of the process.

Divorce is never easy, but a simplified divorce in Scotland can make things a little more manageable.

If you and your spouse have already split your property, there are no claims left to make, and you’ve been separated for at least 1 year (or 2 if your spouse doesn’t agree), this could be a smoother path.

The process is simple – just fill out a form, and the court will handle the rest. They’ll make sure your spouse gets the paperwork. If you need any help, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

What should I do if my ex stops me from seeing my child? 😰

It’s a difficult and emotional situation for everyone involved. In Scotland, the child’s welfare is always the top priority, and their views may be considered depending on their age and maturity.

As a CALM mediator, I can help facilitate productive discussions between parents to find a solution that’s in the child’s best interests.

If the situation doesn’t improve, legal action might be needed. I’m here to support you every step of the way with care and guidance.
