There are days when we need our community more than ever.

Overnight, our store was targeted by theft and severe vandalism, leaving our lovely Four Square vans damaged and facing several thousand pounds in repair costs.

It also means no collections or deliveries today or tomorrow while we find a solution.

Stealing from a homelessness charity doesn't just damage property, it impacts the people in our community who rely on us most. While our staff and volunteers are resilient, events like this are deeply disheartening for everyone working tirelessly to keep Edinburgh Furniture Initiative running.

5 ways you can support us today:

1. Share this post so our donors and customers stay informed.
2. Be patient with our team as we reschedule impacted bookings.
3. Bring furniture donations directly to our drop-off zone.
4. Visit and shop in-store this week.
5. Consider a small donation to help.

Every share, visit, and donation helps us get back on the road. Thank you for caring.

The law has changed in Scotland. Awaab’s Law provides landlords with clearer requirements to ensure damp and mould is dealt with quickly.

If you find damp or mould in your home you should let us know immediately in the same way that you would report a repair. We will investigate the issue and begin any necessary repairs within the timescales set out by Awaab's Law.

Today is Scottish Housing Day! 🏠💛

This year's theme is 'healthy homes, healthy futures' and that's something we work towards in a few different ways:

🏘️ Placemaking, to make Leith an even better place to live
💼 Employability support, because a good job can change everything
👵 Sheltered housing, to help people live well later in life
🏡 Tenant advice and sustainment, so people can stay settled in their homes

A good home is about so much more than a roof over your head. Have a story about how one of these has made a difference for you or someone you know? Share it below - we'd love to hear it! 👇

Behind the scenes, we're planning ways to bring all this support even closer together for tenants . Keep your eyes peeled 👀
