We are delighted to share details of our upcoming advocacy workshop being held in partnership with AULS!

Our speaker, Tom Marshall WS, will guide attendees through the process of preparing and delivering an oral submission.

This will be an incredibly useful event for anyone who wishes to improve their mooting, debating or presentation skills.

Abertay Law Society is once again participating in BIUCAC, the largest commercial awareness competition in the UK.

There are 20 prizes to be won, coming from a range of top city law firms. These include work experience, CV reviews etc.

This competition is open to undergraduate students who have not yet secured a training contract. You must register with your university email!

So you want to be... an Advocate? ✅

SYLA, in partnership with Themis Advocates, are hosting event for those interesting in becoming an Advocate at the Scottish Bar.

Have you ever wondered what life is like as an Advocate? How do you make that jump from life as a solicitor or trainee? What should you know before doing so?

Attendees will hear from Advocates at various stages of their career at the bar: Mungo Bovey QC, Kirsty Hood QC, Michael Upton and Robert Hovey. They will talk about their journey to the bar, their experiences since calling and they will share their tips for those considering a career as an Advocate.

There will be an opportunity to ask the panel members questions at the end of the event.
