Why Cheap Finance Isn't Always the Best Finance

The lowest mortgage rate isn't automatically the best deal. Investors should look beyond the headline interest rate.

You should consider: Arrangement fees, valuation fees, early repayment charges, loan-to-value, flexibility and total borrowing cost

A slightly higher rate with greater flexibility can sometimes fit an investment strategy better. Finance should support the deal rather than control it.

The ‘BER’ Months – What Do They Mean for Property?
September is here, and that means we’ve officially entered the ‘BER’ months — September, October, November and December.
But what do these final four months of the year mean if you’re thinking about buying or selling?
September is back-to-business month. The summer holidays are over, routines return, and buyers who’ve spent the summer thinking about moving can start getting serious.
October is all about autumn appeal. Warm lighting, cosy presentation and great photography can really help buyers imagine themselves living in your home.
November? Don’t assume it’s time to wait until spring. With potentially fewer properties competing for attention, a well-priced and well-marketed home can still stand out.
And December shouldn’t automatically be written off either. Buyers who are actively looking towards the end of the year may have a genuine reason for wanting to move — and the festive break can also get people thinking about where they want to be in the New Year.
So, September, October, November and December — four very different months, but each can bring opportunities for buyers and sellers.

🏃‍♂️⚔️ JUST UNDER 6 WEEKS TO GO… NOW THE REAL WORK BEGINS!

The Wallace Ultra Marathon is getting VERY real. With just under six weeks to go, I'm ramping up the mileage this week and pushing the training to another level.

After everything that's happened — the injury, MRI, setbacks, rehab and uncertainty over whether I'd even make the start line — I'm incredibly grateful just to be able to say: I'M STILL ON TRACK. 💪

But completing an Ultra isn't the real end goal. The real goal is much bigger.

💙 To raise awareness of Parkinson's.
💙 To raise funds for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK in Scotland
💙 To help fund the research that could ultimately FIND A CURE.

I watched my dad live with Parkinson's for more than a decade before we lost him, and I've seen first-hand what this disease can do to an individual and the family around them.

That's what I think about when the training gets tough. Because over the next six weeks, the miles are going to get longer. The legs are going to get tired. There will undoubtedly be days when I'd rather stay in bed than put my trainers on.

But I have a choice. People living with Parkinson's don't get to choose to take a day off from it.

So I'll keep running. One mile at a time. One training session at a time. One step closer to the William Wallace Ultra…

And hopefully one step closer to the day we can finally say: WE FOUND A CURE. 💙
