Starting 1st April, all members of Team Turley will be embarking on a 1,951km journey to raise money for the in memory of Williaml Lamrock. Willie, father of Gayle and father-in-law to John, was born in 1951 and was one of Turley Legal's biggest champions. Sadly he passed away last year after a brave battle against glioblastoma.

1,951km is roughly the same as travelling from Coleraine to Cork and back, twice. The entire journey will be covered by walking, jogging, running, cycling, swimming, and even horseriding!

Turley Legal is once again thrilled to finish in the top 10 of the Experian NI legal advisor rankings for volume of qualifying M&A transactions completed in 2022. John Turley, Managing Director, said of the team's success:

Turley Legal are delighted to welcome two new members to the team!

Ciara is a Senior Associate and has significant experience (both commercial and residential) and has worked in the sector since qualifying as a solicitor in 2016. Ciara advises on all aspects of property law including negotiation, and , residential and purchases, distressed asset sales and boundary . She has considerable experience and interest in working with developers and advises primarily on the acquisition of land for development and the sale of new build properties and is well-versed in dealing with plot sales and managing residential property portfolios.

Amy is a solicitor, having graduated with an Honour’s Degree in Law with French at Queens’ University in 2020 and qualifying as a solicitor through the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 2022. Amy works in both the and Real Estate teams, with a particular interest in property transactions.

In 2023, Turley Legal have set a fundraising target of £50,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity. Managing Director, John Turley, kickstarted the campaign in December in memory of his father-in-law William Lamrock with a dip a day. The fundraising will help to support the work of the charity and .

We're back for ! This week the spotlight is on Turley Legal who will be embarking on a year of fundraising events throughout 2023. In memory of Willie Lamrock, the team will be taking on progressively bigger challenges as the year goes on.

To kick start their efforts, John completed 'a dip a day' throughout December. With temperatures sometimes as low as -4, this really was a chilly start! Thank you to you all for everything you are doing to help , we can't wait to see what 2023 holds!

At this time of year in particular, we reflect upon the importance of family. In April past, one of Turley Legal's biggest champions, Willie Lamrock, father of Gayle and father-in-law to John, passed away after a brave battle against glioblastoma. Unfortunately, no amount of fight or positive outlook, which he had in spades, would alter the course of his outcome.

Glioblastoma is an aggressive form of cancer that occurs in the brain or spinal cord. Google it, and you will see that a glioblastoma diagnosis is almost always terminal. Unlike many other forms of cancer treatment in which incredible advancements have and are being made, there is currently no cure for glioblastoma.

In memory of and inspired by a great man, Turley Legal will be embarking on a year of fundraising activities in 2023 for The Brain Tumour Charity. We are determined to do our bit to help find a cure for glioblastoma and other brain cancers. While that struggle continues, we are motivated to help relieve even some of the suffering for other families impacted by this terrible disease.

In lieu of Christmas gifts to clients and referrers this year, Turley Legal will be making a donation to The Brain Tumour Charity via our Just Giving link below. Our team will be undertaking monthly and bigger challenges during the year to draw attention to and raise vital funds for the charity. We would love it if any of you would also like to get involved along the way. To kickstart our efforts, John has been doing and will complete a 'Dip a Day' for the month of December. Temperatures hit -4 degrees for him last week!
