🚧 CCTV SURVEY & DRAINAGE REPAIRS – PLUMPTON SCHOOL 🚧

Another drainage repair successfully completed by DS Drainage & Cumberland Treatment Plants! ✅

A couple of weeks ago, we attended Plumpton School to carry out a CCTV drainage survey following ongoing drainage issues.

📹 Our CCTV inspection revealed:
✅ Multiple open fractures in the underground pipework
✅ Several large open joints
✅ A badly open joint directly on a Y-branch connection
✅ Pipework requiring excavation and replacement

Due to the location of the damaged Y-branch and the extent of the defects, a resin patch repair wasn’t suitable, meaning excavation was the only proper long-term solution.

👷 Works carried out:
✅ Tarmac carefully cut and excavated
✅ Damaged drainage pipework exposed and removed
✅ New pipework and connections installed
✅ Pipework bedded and surrounded in pea gravel
✅ Excavation backfilled and compacted
✅ Tarmac professionally reinstated

💪 Another job completed properly, from initial CCTV investigation right through to excavation, repair and reinstatement!

🚽 BLOCKED TOILET – ARCLELDON 🚽

Another blockage attended this week in Arcleldon.

We arrived to find the toilet completely blocked. After lifting the inspection chamber, we carried out a CCTV inspection upstream and found collapsed pipework with a large lump of concrete lodged inside the drainage line.

✅ Toilet cleared and back in use for now
✅ CCTV used to locate the exact problem
✅ Collapsed pipework identified
✅ Further works booked for excavation and permanent repair

Another problem found rather than just clearing the blockage and walking away. 👍

💩 INSTALLATIONS & ANOTHER FAILED COMPLIANCE CHECK 💩

It’s been another busy couple of weeks for DS Drainage & Cumberland Treatment Plants! ✅

We’ve recently carried out a couple of sewage treatment plant installations:

✅ Brampton – 10-person Marsh Industries sewage treatment plant installed and completed.

✅ Egremont – 8-person Marsh Industries sewage treatment plant completed this week. We’re just waiting on the finishing pictures and we’ll get the full installation uploaded shortly. 📸

Last night we also carried out another septic tank compliance check on the outskirts of Carlisle — unfortunately, this system failed on multiple issues:

❌ Existing discharge to a natural watercourse
❌ System located close to the neighbouring property boundary
❌ Collapsed outlet pipework
❌ Collapsed inlet pipework
❌ Issues with the rainwater pipework
❌ Multiple defects requiring an upgrade

A full quotation has now been sent for a new 8-person Marsh Industries sewage treatment plant, and we’re awaiting the customer’s approval.
