Cumbria Law Centre Volunteers visited Carlisle Foodbank on Friday 20th March. The feedback, as ever, was that the visit was very informative, positive and enjoyable, once again!

Fiona and Knox attended Cumbria CVS Volunteer Fair on 10th February. Many local organisations participated in the event and it was good for Cumbria Law Centre to be involved once again.

Fiona attended Botcherby Community Centre this morning to learn more about the services the Centre provides, the local organisations it supports. Fiona also discussed CLC volunteering and other services we provide. It was a very busy morning and I would like to thank Helen and Marian at Botcherby Community Centre for the invitation.

‘My time at CLC was amazing and very enriching. I had the opportunity to experience the day to day work of a law centre, learning and developing new skills. During my time at CLC, I gained experience on reception, dealing with clients and learning new administrative tasks. I found it to be brilliant.’

The Legal Aid Agency is currently dealing with a cyber security incident where personal data from some Legal Aid applicants has been stolen.

As a Legal Aid Agency provider this may mean that some of our clients are impacted.

The Legal Aid Agency is responsible for notifying individuals who have had their data breached but we ask all our clients to be aware of the risks and to follow these steps:

📧 Don’t open emails from unknown sources and check the sender information carefully.

💻 Avoid clicking on unknown links. Don’t click on links or download attachments from suspicious emails or senders that you don’t know

📞 Double check via the phone (01228 515 129) if you are asked to send any information online to Cumbria Law Centre. Ask to speak to your caseworker.

🔐 Choose safe passwords and reset any passwords that might have appeared in a data breach.
