The courage shown by survivors of abuse at Skircoat Lodge Children's Home has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Yesterday Linda Brunning was found guilty of five charges relating to the abuse of children in her care.
But the fight for justice doesn't stop there. While criminal proceedings punish the offenders, the civil courts offer an important route for victims to seek compensation and accountability from individuals and institutions that failed to protect them.
