**Project Completion**
After yesterday’s post showing the rear elevation of the competed project in Saltford, we think it’s time to share the gorgeous front elevation.

The clients wanted something a little standout instead of a bog standard ‘functional’ porch extension and ‘in-keeping’ materials. We opted for a large front facing gabled porch structure complimented by Cotswold stone, smooth cast white render and a black detailed finishing including crittal style doors and facias/soffits etc.

This combined with the stepped nature of the side extension and loft extension, along with traditional tiles and soft timber cladding gable gave a unique and prominent aesthetic that has been drawing a loft of attention from onlookers.

**Project Completion**
We recently visited this completed project of ours in Saltford to take some pictures. Safe to say we were blown away by how the builder bought our design to life!!

The design included a double storey side extension, a single storey rear extension, a ‘statement’ front porch extension and a loft extension including rear dormer! It was quite the project, and we’re so happy with the finished product, as is the client! The flow works perfectly.

The client now has a beautiful 4 double bedroom property (two en-suite rooms) complete with open plan kitchen/living/dining, larder, separate snug, utility, WC, office and garage set within a property which has immense kerb appeal. You wait until you see the front elevation in the next post 👀

We saw the project through from initial concept/scheme design, planning/certificate stages and building control approval.

**Opinion Required**
Last week we posted the rear elevation of a new build dwelling design we completed for a family near Pill in Bristol. This week we're considering the front elevation and have two options that the clients are picking between. They love them both so much they're having a hard time deciding, so lets put it to a vote.

We've placed each design next to each other within this post so skim through to compare. Option 1 is a dormer style bungalow frontage with a large central showpiece entrance/lobby. That is compared to Option 2 which offers a similar design to the rear elevation, where the showpiece sections are gabled on either side with a more slimline central entrance/lobby design.

**Planning Submission**
Check out this Davies Architectural Services design for a contemporary new build dwelling near Pill in North Somerset. The site is currently occupied by a dilapidated bungalow which will be demolished and replaced with a statement piece of architecture.

The new property will boast 4 double bedrooms, 3 of which have en-suites. There will also be a master bathroom and separate office space at first floor level.

At ground floor level the scheme very much adopts modern day living with a large open plan living/kitchen/dining area with build in larder, a separate living room, an additional office, a large Utility space and of course a WC located off the open double height entrance.

We're currently working with the client on two different options of design for the front elevation. They absolutely love them both so watch this space as we may do another post asking for your opinion.

With several successful projects already completed locally — we’re confident this scheme represents a strong, well-considered addition to the street, with a stand out finish.

**Project Completion**
We recently heard back from a client who we worked with in early 2018. They're in the process of moving house and would like us to get involved in their new plans after the success of their previous home extensions working with us.

They were also very kind to show us the estate agent pictures of the house they previously extended.

This project included a single storey rear extension and a loft conversion to extend the family home. Have a look through the pictures and see how both extensions make such magnificent use of the space and how open and airy the home feels as a result.

We achieved both planning and building control approvals after working closely with the client, and aided on site works surrounding drainage issues as well. The end product looks fantastic and will make a beautiful family home for the next owners!

Check out this New Build Development currently submitted for planning approval in South Gloucestershire.

The proposal will transform an underused large rear-garden plot into a set of four high-quality, modern family homes, carefully designed to have a warm and comfortable family home factor from both front and rear elevations, while simultaneously delivering exceptional space, light, and sustainability.

The aesthetic designed presents a nice country-contemporary style with a combination of gabled and flat roof details. These combined with coursed stone, smoothcast render and black detailing encompasses the homely style we are aiming for whilst delivering exceptional modern kerb-appeal. We think we've got the balance just right.

After a successful project for two new build houses to the front plot already completed — we’re confident this scheme represents a strong, well-considered addition to the local area, with a stand out finish.

**Scheme Design**
Check out the design of this small single storey rear extension proposed to a beautiful property in Tickenham Bristol.

An extension really doesn't have to be large to make a significant difference. With a few strategic knock-throughs we have achieved a light and airy flow to the open plan living area.

A quante yet standout kitchen is complimented by a smart picture window, set within a flat roof extension that optimises two roof sky lanterns and a large set of bi-folding doors. There is also a side full height window, with natural light being a priority.

**Completion - Before and After**
One of our Developer clients just sent us the final pictures of this stunning renovation and extension in Long Ashton. Davies Architectural Services saw this project through from initial scheme design and Planning stage through Building Control. Check out the before and afters within this post!

Along with a number of extensions the Planning Application included a Change of Use approval from an underutilised shopfront into a family home. We successfully argued the location of the initial shop was not fit for purpose and could evidence a failure to let the commercial premises for a number of months which was crucial in obtaining the approval.

Where a eyesore and ill-extended/ decorated property once stood is now beautiful and well-proportioned 4 bedroom family home complete with open plan Living/ Kitchen/ Dining Room, Larder Cupboard, Snug, Utility, Bin/ Cycle Store, WC, 4 Double Bedrooms, 2 En-Suites and 1 Master Bathroom.

**Planning Submission**
Last week alone we submitted 9 planning applications, including one for this beautiful extension in Emersons Green.

As is typical with a modern day brief the new extension will provide a beautiful open plan living/kitchen/dining area suitable to hosting family and friends. A spare room is then also provided to the side element of the extension combined with an internal gym and gym.

Externally the extension is subservient and in-keeping with the dwellings aesthetic from the front elevation for a positive relationship with the street character, however the rear is intentionally a standout design with a mix of white smoothcast render and grey windows/doors, with a vaulted lean-to roof as per the clients request.
