Lyons Davidson is proud to be on the approved solicitor list for Headway - the brain injury association through the work that we carry out for our brain injured clients. Headway works to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services; they regularly support our clients and their families. 💜
Headway runs an annual awareness campaign, Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week, which aims to raise awareness of the impact of brain injury and provide a platform for brain injury survivors. This year, ABI Week will take place between 18 – 24 May and the theme is Isolation and Loneliness After Brain Injury.
We see first-hand how isolated our clients can become after sustaining a brain injury. No two brain injuries are the same but there are a number of common challenges that our clients can face when adjusting to a life with brain injury. These can include behavioural changes, difficulties with communication, problems with mobility and accessibility, emotional and psychological challenges, and a lack of understanding from friends, family and the public. These challenges can impact the way people with a brain injury interact with others, which in turn can result in feelings of isolation and loneliness.
We work closely with our clients and their families to help them overcome the challenges they face after brain injury, and this includes letting them know about the excellent support that Headway can offer.
