Labour MPs have said that the ยฃ50 million fund that has been allocated under a Government scheme for dismissed LGBT veterans is just not enough.
Whilst the figure seems large at first, with an estimated 4000 LGBT veterans being forced out of their jobs and stripped of their medals and rank, this ยฃ50 million would only allow each to claim around ยฃ12,500.
Given that the so-called "gay ban", which was lifted in 2000, cost these veterans their careers, livelihoods and income, ยฃ12,500 doesn't quite hit the mark for those affected by discriminatory practices.
