SPECTRUM SPECTRUM is a Brighton Dome project, kindly supported by The Pebble Trust

SPECTRUM cultivates and supports the vibrant music scene of Brighton & Hove.

Brighton Dome & Resident Records present SPECTRUM: celebrating our city's incredible musical talent with gigs showcasing local bands and artists

Supported by GM Building and The Pebble Trust Our city is brimming with musical talent of all genres and we're committed to celebrating it and offering the perfect platform for acts to be seen and heard. As well as hosting a diverse ‘spectrum’ of bands

each month, there’s also a ‘spectrum’ of stimulating activity within this work (see what we did there!). This is what we are doing:

SPECTRUM Live – The Studio Theatre is currently under redevelopment so this is a perfect opportunity for us to explore more unusual and intimate spaces across Brighton Dome and Brighton museums. Keep up to date with us on Facebook to find out where and what we are up to….whether in seated cabaret style for melodic folk or a standing gig with visuals for something brilliantly noisy, or a promenade gig through unexpected surroundings, every gig promises something different and pays homage to the wealth of talent on offer across the city. There are also opportunities for people interested in live sound engineering to shadow our technicians. SPECTRUM Seminars – These sessions give an opportunity for local musicians to come and learn more about the industry as a whole, whether it be PRS, legal matters or press and marketing. Seminars are always free to attend and are an amazing way to pick up new knowledge and advice from those who know. The wonderful Yumi And The Weather are listed here as part of Brighton Music Blog's highlights of 2018. Excited for their set tomorrow at Spectrum: Unplugged in the Museum which is fully booked (returns only).

I’m not a fan of end of year lists. There’s the forced ranking of things, introducing subjectivity and pitting people against each other. There’s the fact that you might not remem…

Some members of the band Garden Centre obsess over semi-rural boredom and exploration. Others have the audacity to write love songs. The most cretinous members opt to write about energy drinks exclusively. Here is a video for their song 'Riding'

Catch them live at SPECTRUM: All Day Festival this Saturday

Taken from Garden Centre's debut self-titled album. Released 24 June on tape cassette and digital download via Faux Discx. This video was made by Matt Girlin...
