“I’ve been asked to be a child’s Special Guardian
 what does that mean?”

If you’ve been approached about becoming a Special Guardian, it can feel like a big responsibility. An SGO gives you parental responsibility and puts you in charge of important decisions about a child’s daily life, schooling and wellbeing, while the parents still keep a limited role. It’s designed to give stability and usually lasts until the child turns 18.

If you’d like to understand the basics in a simple, clear way, you can read more here:

🌟 A wonderful 5-star review for our Private Client Partner, Carl Ingram! 🌟

Well done to Carl, Head of our Private Client Department in our Farnham office, for the incredible feedback below, and to Georgia for her brilliant support:

“We were recommended GoodLaw Solicitors by a close friend of ours, Tejasvi (TJ). She asked us to contact Carl Ingram and said he will answer all your questions and help you. Carl was very patient and understanding with what we required and with what our wishes were in writing up our Wills. Both Carl and Georgia his assistant made the whole experience feel less stressful. We would definitely recommend them to friends and family. Thank you GoodLaw.”

Well done!💙

What happens to your will after you’ve made it? 👇

After you’ve signed, you get to decide where to keep it. Most people want their solicitor to store the original. You’ll get a copy for yourself, something to tuck away at home. Don’t forget to tell your executors where the will lives. They need to find it easily when the time comes.

If you’re curious about other details, check out more of our Wills FAQs:
