As retired member of HM Royal Air Force, having served 44 years, I am passionate about seeing our Veterans being supported and cared for - please let any Veterans know of this wonderful new service. Thank you.
Strengthening Support for Our Armed Forces Community
Weโre proud to announce an important new partnership between Hull Royal Infirmary and Hull 4 Heroes that will strengthen the support available to veterans and serving personnel across Hull and the East Riding.
As part of this collaboration, Jan, who brings many years of experience working within the NHS and is a member of the Hull Armed Forces Forum, will now be based at Hull Royal Infirmary. Jan will act as a dedicated link between Armed Forces patients and the wide range of localised support available through Hull 4 Heroes and partner organisations.
This means:
โ๏ธ Better identification of veterans and serving personnel within hospital settings
โ๏ธ Smoother discharge and recovery support
โ๏ธ Direct connection to peer support, welfare assistance, and community services
โ๏ธ Joined-up care that recognises the unique experiences of those who have served
We know that transitioning between services โ especially during times of ill health โ can feel overwhelming. Having a trusted, knowledgeable point of contact inside the hospital will ensure members of the Armed Forces community are not only recognised but fully supported.
If you or a family member have served, please make sure you inform hospital staff so you can access the additional support you are entitled to.
This is a significant step forward in delivering coordinated, veteran-aware care across our region.
