Ditching the dull, doing some upgrades.
Steps…
Clear space and fittings.
Skip the waste. 9 Tonne
Save the old slabs for future Base. 1tn
Check wall elevation we are working on is flat…. It’s never flat but we note where is most out of plumb.
Fit base batons (to create a perfectly flat elevation and to allow air flow).
Fix batons off the floor to prevent water bridging.
Seal any cuts 🎨
Cover over elevation with felt and staple gun.
Fit chosen dressing product to wall.
Have a ☕️.
Groundwork’s
Check regulations on what you’re allowed to build and how close to boundaries.
Decide what spec you want to achieve and how it will be used… where will people sit? Where will items be stored?
Gauge future ground level, then fix a height prop-point to the fence for future vertical and horizontal checks (with 2m or 4m timber etc).
Measure out work area and leave timber lengths to indicate perimeter.
Check your new guide perimeter vs any nearby outbuildings or house to check all is lined up.
Dig a post hole and get your depth… fingered crossed there are no hidden surprises 🤞🏻.
Prop up posts with off cut’s.
Check new post height against your fixed guide (made earlier on your fence)… then check vertical levels. 10lb hammer knocks down 10mm proud posts with ease.
Throw in water, throw in Postcrete and stone… give it a little mix.
Have a tea ☕️.
Remove props for next post.
Tidy up.
Add any dressings.
