It’s very common for people to contact us feeling unsure about whether now is the “right time” to take advice.
Often, not looking for answers straight away, just a quiet conversation to help understand their position and what options might be available to them. Often prompted by media comments, many have been carrying a vague sense that they should “do something”, but aren’t quite sure what that something is, or whether it can wait.
We see this a lot with Lasting Powers of Attorney. People frequently tell us they assume it was something to think about much later in life, until a change in circumstances, such as an illness, an accident, or seeing it affect someone close to them, causes them pause and reflect.
That first step doesn’t have to be daunting. There’s no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation that you’ll have everything figured out. For most people, it’s simply about talking things through with someone who understands and can help provide clarity.
Planning ahead isn’t about expecting the worst. It’s about feeling prepared, and knowing that, if the unexpected were to happen, the people you trust would be able to step in and make decisions on your behalf.
If the above sounds familiar to you, our team are always happy to listen. Sometimes, a short conversation is all it takes to feel more settled about what comes next.
