Do you actually know what you’re signing up for?

Direct cremation can absolutely be the right choice for some people. But not all direct cremations are the same.

The adverts we see during prime-time TV can make the decision appear incredibly simple. But before signing anything, I think every family deserves to understand what will actually happen.

Where will your loved one be cared for?�Will they remain local?�Where will the cremation take place?�Will you know when and where it happens?�Who will actually be looking after them?�And what choices will your family have when the time comes?

These are some of the questions Handled With Care encourages families to ask before making a decision. 

A cheap or convenient-looking plan on television shouldn't be the end of your research when the reality behind that decision matters so much.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Team Laurelo as we took on the Thames Moonlight 10K in London in aid of .

Thanks to the generosity of our friends, colleagues, partners and supporters, we’ve now reached our £1,000 fundraising target.

Child Bereavement UK is a charity that means a great deal to us at Laurelo, and one we’ve been proud to support for the past two years. Their work provides vital, specialist support to children, young people and families when a child grieves or when a child dies.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared our fundraising or cheered the team on.

Clare, Sam and Jodie had a fantastic time at the Society of Will Writers Conference.

Events like this are all about relationships. Strengthening the ones we already have, starting new conversations and finding more ways we can work alongside will writers to support families.

There were lots of positive conversations at the stand and some exciting new opportunities opened up.

Relationships with funeral directors are incredibly important to us.

That’s why it was brilliant to have had Sam representing Laurelo at the recent Derby & Notts meeting, hosted by .W.Lymn at their Memorial Chapel.

These meetings give us the chance to listen to the profession, understand what matters to funeral directors and keep strengthening the relationships between funeral care and the support families may need afterwards.

Who says you need to be in the same place to have a drink together? 🥂💚

We don’t all work from the same office, so the traditional Friday post-work drink together isn’t always quite so easy.

But that doesn’t stop us.
Sometimes it’s a quick check-in, everyone grabbing whatever they’re drinking and raising a glass from wherever they happen to be.
🍷 Wine�☕ Tea�🥤 Something fizzy�🍺 Something stronger…

The drink doesn’t really matter.
It’s the “cheers”, taking a moment to stop and connect that does.

We work hard together, we support each other, and we make time for the little things too.

Not a bad office for the day! 🌊

Clare recently visited the Isle of Wight visiting a family who needed some extra support.

We know that not everyone wants, or is able, to deal with everything over the phone or online especially when you’re grieving.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply turn up, sit down together and help make things feel a little less overwhelming.

It’s our teams favourite part of the job. Real people, real conversations and being there when families need us, in person. ❤️

And sometimes , with a pretty lovely view too!

This is the kind of post we LOVE sharing. 💚

One of our Case Managers, Katie, received yet another lovely thank-you from a family she has been supporting, along with a gift card as an extra thank you for all her hard work.

And of course, it was immediately shared and celebrated in the Laurelo team chat. 🥰

Probate and estate administration can be a long and difficult journey for families. Our case managers are there through it all, getting to know the people behind each case and doing everything they can to make things that little bit easier.

So when a family takes the time to say thank you, it means an awful lot.

Well done Katie. 💚

And thank you to the family who took the time to make someone in our team feel appreciated.

Our Case Manager Francesca had been waiting far too long for these supplies to turn up.

When they FINALLY arrived?
Straight into the Laurelo group chat:
“WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!” 😂
Because sometimes it’s the simplest things that make your day when all you really want to do is get on with your job and give the families you’re supporting the very best service you can and of course, at Laurelo, nothing happens quietly.

We share the frustrations, celebrate the wins and cheer each other on.

One team, one slightly chaotic family. And we wouldn't have it any other way. 💚

We’ve had a very special delivery in the Laurelo family… 🐶🐾💚

Our Head of Legal shared some rather lovely news with the team last week.

Beautiful Bonnie has become a very proud mama to seven gorgeous puppies: four girls and three boys! 🥰

We’re very pleased to report that mum and pups are all thriving!

We talk a lot about being human. And sometimes that simply means celebrating the lovely things happening in each other’s lives.
Congratulations Bonnie! We think you’ve done a wonderful job. 💚🐾
