Teams from PEM, Tula Medical Experts and Crown Office Chambers joined us for a fun afternoon out on the water, followed by drinks in the clubhouse, raising money for the Tees Better Future Fund.

Tonight's BBC Panorama programme will shine a spotlight on the experiences of families affected by maternity care failures at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Royal College of Midwives has highlighted concerns raised by staff whistleblowers about unsafe staffing levels, exhausted teams and services under significant pressure. These are issues that maternity professionals and families have been raising for years, and they reinforce the urgent need for safe staffing and a culture that listens, learns and acts.

At Tees, we have long been committed to improving maternity safety. Through our work supporting families affected by avoidable harm, campaigning for change, and publishing our maternity services Freedom of Information report on stillbirths and neonatal deaths, we have continued to highlight concerns around staffing, safety, transparency and accountability across maternity services.

Our Medical Negligence team continues to support families affected by failures in maternity care, helping them access answers, accountability and the support they need for the future.

Real change requires action, not just reflection.

Colleagues at Tees recently came together in our Cambridge office for a 'Pack and Chat' event in support of Flutter, a charity supporting kidney cancer patients across the UK and a 2025 recipient of a grant from the Tees Better Future Fund.

The event brought people together to pack care bags for kidney cancer patients and hear from Flutter trustees Julia and Gill about the charity’s inspiring work.

Founded by Mary following her own experience with kidney cancer, Flutter provides care bags and comfort cushions to patients at a time when support and reassurance matter most.

Together, we packed 80 care bags and raised money through a raffle to support Flutter’s work.
