Today our very own Mr Sanjeev Sharma was complimented by a Court of Appeal Judge. He was referred to as the “hero of the hour”. That's when you know the long hours and dedication we out in to our client’s cases.

Lord Justice Lewis took time out to personally mention Mr Sharma in court during the hearing. He recognised Mr Sharma's efforts on behalf of his client which in part involved Mr Sharma having to wake up the judge early in the morning with a telephone call (1.05am to be precise!) to secure the return of his client to the UK. In what was a very fast moving and heavily contested case by the Home Office.

Lord Justice Lewis said, "it is exactly what you would expect an officer of the Supreme Court to do. So the hero of the hour. And I'm extremely grateful, Mr. Sharma. It's very nice to see that happen and to see you in person."

Solicitors often aren't recognised as much in cases at this high level but we do play an integral role behind the scenes. And it’s so wonderful to receive recognition in this way. Well done Mr Sharma and keep fighting! Jm Wilson

COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS?

Sanjeev Sharma has been busy since October in the High Court where he instructed Tony Muman from Halcyon Chambers who was led by Manjit Gill KC. We succeeded in a very important case on the Home Secretary's power to stop an airline passenger from boarding a flight for reasons unconnected to terrorism.

The facts of this case are extraordinary. Following a hard-fought victory, the High Court ordered the Home Secretary to bring FD back to the UK at her cost and before Wed 17th December - at which point his Turkish visa expires.
