⚖️ A difficult week in Court and a reminder that the legal system can be extremely unfair.

I supported a truly incredible lady at a two-day financial relief final hearing. ❤️ This lady is a domestic abuse survivor and lives with multiple health conditions, both physical and mental.

For two years, she had dealt with everything herself because she couldn't afford legal representation. She completed court forms alone, tried to understand complicated procedures alone and navigated a system that even lawyers spend years learning. 😔

By the time I became involved, all I could do was work with her to prepare for the final hearing. Frustratingly, much of the case focused on mistakes made in paperwork she had completed years earlier without any legal guidance.

💭 Think about that for a moment.

Someone who couldn't afford legal help was criticised for not completing legal documents correctly.

Someone with health conditions and dyslexia was judged on paperwork prepared without support.

⚠️ If there is one message I want people to take away from this, it is this:

If you cannot afford a Solicitor from the beginning, please get somebody knowledgeable to at least look through your paperwork before it is filed with the Court.

Again, this is another reason that I have set up The Law Navigator.

The legal system is supposed to provide equal access to justice, but the reality is that those who can afford professional help often start with a significant advantage. 💔

Please don't struggle alone if you don't have to. Ask questions. Seek guidance. Get support.

Because once something is filed with the Court, it can follow you throughout the entire case. 📄⚖️

I’ve been asking clients to leave me a review on Facebook or Google recently ❤️

Of course reviews help a small business grow 🙌 but it’s about much more than just “getting work”.

A lot of people come to me at some of the worst or most stressful times in their lives 😔 so when someone is sat there wondering whether to message me or pick up the phone, I want them to feel comfortable 💛

These are the words people keep using in reviews:
✨ Helpful
✨ Supportive
✨ Caring
✨ Professional
✨ Knowledgeable

That is EXACTLY how I want people to feel 😃

So thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review, recommend me or trust me to help you 🫶 Small businesses genuinely appreciate it more than you realise ❤️

✨ A little milestone for The Law Navigator ✨

I’m really pleased to say that I am now a member of the Society of Will Writers. 📜

In my opinion, one of the things that makes The Law Navigator different is that I’m not a traditional law firm. I’m building my business around providing a more personal and affordable alternative when people need help with legal matters.

Because of that, I know some people naturally look for accreditations and memberships for reassurance and that’s totally understandable. So I’m working hard behind the scenes to obtain recognised memberships and professional accreditations that reflect the work I do and the experience I have. ✅

I’ve actually been taking instructions and drafting Wills for 25 years! And before anyone says it, yes, I know I don’t look old enough 😂

I don’t feel I need to “prove” myself, because my experience, training, client feedback and results speak for themselves, but I also appreciate that having recognised memberships in black and white helps people feel comfortable and confident when choosing who to trust with important matters.

So this is a proud moment for me and another positive step forward for The Law Navigator 💙

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, recommend and trust me with some of life’s biggest decisions. It genuinely means a lot.

💛 Something really important to me 💛

I’m proud to announce that I now work alongside NCDV (National Centre for Domestic Violence).

NCDV help individuals, who are experiencing domestic abuse, to apply for protective Court Orders, such as Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders, quickly and for no charge.

Too many people think they have to stay in unsafe situations because they can’t afford legal fees and that simply isn’t true. A lady came to me after being quoted £9,000!! £9,000 to be safe!!

I referred her to the NCDV and they helped her obtain a non-molestation order, for no charge.

If you need help, support is there.

And if you’re not sure where to start, you can always come to me, have a cuppa and a chat, and I can make a direct referral 💛

“Don’t go to court, it’s not worth the fees” is sometimes terrible advice!

Yes, court can be expensive and of course it should be a last resort but I’ve seen people with strong cases be talked into settling, just to avoid the process.

One recent example?

A client came to see me as she had been told “You might get an extra £30k but it could cost £25k in fees, so just accept it.”

£30k!! That’s not small change. That’s life-changing money for a lot of people.

That’s not strategy, that’s fear-based decision making.

Here’s the reality 👇

⚖️ Court is there for a reason
🧠 You can be properly prepared
💸 There are ways to control costs

And most importantly, you don’t have to do it alone

I help people represent themselves, properly prepared, with knowledge, strategy, and someone firmly in their corner.

Agree if you can. Always.

But don’t be pressured into accepting less just because someone tells you court is “too expensive.”

Sometimes it’s the only way to get what’s fair.

✨ New here? You’re in the right place…

I’ve noticed a few new faces recently so I thought I’d say hello 👋

I’m Lindsey, the person behind The Law Navigator ⚖️

And yes, this is a wedding photo because it appears that I only have one proper headshot and that's boring for a Friday 😆

But this is me, real life, no filters

And that’s exactly how I work with my clients too 💛

I am not your typical “legal” person 😅

I don’t sit behind a desk speaking in jargon
I don’t overcomplicate things
And I definitely don’t believe you need to spend thousands to understand your options 🙅‍♀️

What I do do is this 👇

💔 Help people through breakups, divorce & everything that comes with it
🚫 Step in when things get serious (non-molestation / occupation orders)
👨‍👩‍👧 Help you put arrangements in place for children
📜 Make sure your Will actually reflects what you want
⚖️ Probate – dealing with everything after someone passes

But honestly…

Most of my job is helping people feel back in control again 💭

Because when everything feels uncertain, overwhelming and a bit scary, you don’t just need “legal advice”

👉 You need someone in your corner

That’s where I come in 💛

Straight talking ✔️
Supportive ✔️
No nonsense ✔️

If that sounds like what you need…

👉 A Better Way to Move Forward 💛

I’m really pleased to share that I’ve become a member of Resolution 💼

For those who don’t know, Resolution is an organisation committed to a constructive, non-confrontational approach to resolving family matters, something that sits completely at the heart of how I work every day.

Whether it’s divorce, financial arrangements, or planning for the future, my focus has always been about helping people move forward with clarity, dignity, and as little conflict as possible 🤝

Becoming part of this community reinforces that commitment and keeps me aligned with best practice in supporting clients through what can be some of the most difficult times in their lives.

If you’re going through a separation or trying to sort things out after a relationship breakdown, you don’t have to do it alone 💛

💬 “I can’t recommend Lindsey highly enough…”

Well… I’ll take that 😄

Because behind this lovely review is usually someone who started off feeling:
😩 Confused
😟 Stressed
🤯 Wondering what on earth they’re supposed to do next

And then they find me… and I start saying things like:
👉 “Right, let’s break this down…”
👉 “No, it’s not as complicated as it sounds…”
👉 “Yes, we can deal with that…”

And suddenly it all feels a bit more manageable.

That’s the goal. Not just sorting the legal side but helping you feel like you’ve actually got a handle on things again.

Sophia, thank you so much for trusting me (and for this amazing review ❤️)

And to anyone else currently sat there thinking “I have no idea where to start…”

You’re exactly the kind of person I help.

You may not get to choose what happens… but you do get to choose what happens next👆✨

I see it all the time.

People come to me dealing with situations they never asked for such as
💔 a relationship breakdown
⚖️ a family dispute
🌍 a loss that turns everything upside down

And it’s unfair, really unfair 😔

But at some point, there’s a shift. 🔄
A moment where clients ask me…
👉 “what can I going to do about it?” 🚀

That’s where everything changes.

Not because it suddenly becomes easy…
❤️‍🩹 but because you start to take control again 💪

And that’s where I come in.

I support people through that shift.
I help you make sense of it all 🧠
take a breath 🌿
and start moving forward with clarity and confidence ✨

You don’t have to do it alone 🤝

You may not have chosen the situation…
but you can choose your next step.
Your direction.
Your future. 🌟

I went to see a gentleman recently to sort his Will. He'd worked hard all his life and saved up a pot of money 💷

As we’re chatting, he starts telling me how much he struggles with his bathroom and then says, “I’d really love a wet room.” 🚿

So I asked the obvious question…"Why don’t you have one?”

His answer? He’d never really thought about spending the money, he was a saver.

This is someone who had spent a lifetime working hard, saving, being sensible and now couldn’t quite bring himself to use it to make his own life easier.

I told him that life was about enjoying what you’ve worked for and money isn’t just there to be passed on.

Anyway…I went back this week to get the Will signed and there it was...🚐 A workman’s van outside.

He’d gone and done it. Wet room booked in and underway 👏

It made me smile because sometimes people don’t just need legal support, they need a little nudge.

Funny thing is, people think writing a Will is all about what happens when you’re gone but sometimes it’s the thing that makes people stop and think about how they’re living right now.

And if that means making life easier, more comfortable, or just a bit better day-to-day, then that’s just as important.

(Although the kids might disagree 🤭😂)
