The European Young Bar Association (EYBA) was pleased to be represented at the .a.e._european_lawyers_union Annual Congress 2026 in Barcelona by EYBA Executive Officer

Held during the 40th anniversary year of the U.A.E. and hosted by the Il·lustre Col·legi de l’Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB), the Congress brought together lawyers from across Europe to discuss key challenges facing the legal profession and the rule of law.

The sessions addressed timely issues including foreign investment, free movement of capital, investment screening, housing, consumer protection, mortgage and financing relationships, and the balance between market realities and fundamental rights.

EYBA thanks U.A.E. President , Carlota Querol Briones, , and all speakers and moderators for an insightful and valuable Congress.

📣 Registrations are now open for the EYBA Summer Conference 2026, taking place in Turin from 18 to 21 June 2026!

🌍 The theme of this year’s Conference will be “Advocacy Beyond Borders: Protecting Lawyers, Enhancing Business & Digital Future”: four days of international dialogue, professional training, networking, and exchange among young lawyers from across Europe.

⚖️ The event will begin on Thursday, 18 June, with a welcome drink at OGR Torino, followed on Friday, 19 June, by a full day of workshops at the Fulvio Croce Foundation, focusing on key challenges shaping the future of the legal profession: lawyers’ independence, the protection of the rule of law, artificial intelligence, and the legal challenges surrounding Italian business excellence.

🎙️ Discussions will be enriched by the participation of distinguished representatives from the national and international legal community, including members of the CCBE, CNF, and IBA, as well as academics, lawyers, and professionals from the legal tech and business sectors.

🤝 In addition to the educational programme, the Conference will offer several networking and social opportunities, starting with the Casual Italian Dinner on Friday, 19 June, at Circolo della Stampa Sporting, and concluding with the General Meeting and Gala Dinner on Saturday, 20 June, at the charming Castello della Rovere.

The EYBA Spring Conference 2026 officially opened in Faro with Afonso Café, President of the Court of Appeal of the Algarve (CRF Algarve).

The first panel, "Young Lawyers and Global Challenges", was led by lawyers Constança Calçada Soares and Joana Zagury.

The morning continued with Ambassador Luís de Almeida Sampaio, addressing the topic "Is Democracy at Risk?"

A proud moment for the Algarve to host the next generation of European lawyers.
