For Leigh Boyle, it was the opportunity to explore different areas of the business, develop new skills and discover a career path that was the right fit.

After joining Baker McKenzie Belfast through our Graduate Programme, Leigh completed rotations across AML, Process & Quality, Procurement and Legal Project Management, gaining valuable experience and taking on meaningful responsibility along the way.

Looking after our wellbeing starts with making time for it. 💚

To mark World Mental Health Day, colleagues across our Belfast Centre came together for a wellbeing day focused on connection, learning and taking a moment away from the busy working day.

The morning started with smoothies and healthy treats, followed by a fantastic session from Catherine, Catherine - Dietitian |Yoga Teacher | Wellbeing, who shared practical tips on the link between nutrition and wellbeing, and how small changes can make a positive difference in everyday life.

It was wonderful to see colleagues taking time to connect, learn something new and continue important conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

A big thank you to Catherine and to everyone who joined us.

Because supporting wellbeing is not just for one day. It’s something we all benefit from making space for every day. 💚

Samantha McAllister joined Baker McKenzie eleven years ago as a local recruiter, back when the Belfast centre was still finding its feet. She is now Operations Lead for our Practice Innovation team, working on the firm's global innovation strategy and spending a decent share of her year in Baker McKenzie locations around the world. 🌎

A team from our Belfast centre climbed Northern Ireland's highest mountain this week in aid of our charity partner, Su***de Prevention Charity , and thankfully everyone in the group made it to the summit and back down again!

It was a first time on Donard for a lot of them, and as with the climbs we have done before, what got people to the top was the support of their teammates and the knowledge that we were doing something together for an incredible cause.

Thank you to everyone who took it on, and to everyone who has given so far.

Our monthly Drinks on the Terrace is always a highlight for colleagues in the Belfast Centre - a chance to catch up, connect informally and enjoy time together beyond the working day.

This month we added a special bingo night in support of our charity partner PIPS Su***de Prevention Charity.

Eyes down, plenty of laughs, and a great opportunity to raise money for an amazing cause. Thank you to everyone who came along and gave generously.

⚽️ Baker FC were back at Business Fives last week, and they made it all the way to the semi-final before their run came to an end.

There is a consolation, though. The team has qualified for the national tournament, so there is more to come from this squad yet!

More September arrivals! Matthew, Helen and David have joined our two-year graduate programme here in Belfast. 👋

Over the next two years, they will spend six months each in teams across Process and Quality, Legal Project Management, Procurement, and Anti-Money Laundering, getting properly stuck into four very different sides beyond traditional legal practice.
