Baker McKenzie - Belfast

Baker McKenzie - Belfast Find a career as brilliant as you at Baker McKenzie Belfast. Now recruiting for multiple roles. Baker & McKenzie is a truly global law firm.

We have more offices in more locations than any other law firm and most of our work has an international dimension. With 12,000 people in 47 countries, few other firms can claim to be so multi-national. Yet big does not mean impersonal. One of the things you'll notice about Baker & McKenzie is our culture. We call it Fluency, which describes how we work, think and behave when we are at our best. E

very person in the firm is measured not just on the basis of how they perform but how they perform in this culture. And, because we have no global head office, at the local level we can offer you the best of both worlds: the work, pride and experience of being part of one of the world's leading law firms but in a local office environment that is friendly and supportive. No matter what the role or level, our strategy is to encourage and support every Baker & McKenzie person to fulfil their potential. Our Belfast office is a centre of excellence and focuses on providing high quality legal services to the Firm's clients around the world, and business and administrative services to our many offices and practice groups

Baker McKenzie's Chief Innovation Officer, Ben Allgrove, recently visited us to discuss the Firm's AI strategy, including the important role the Belfast Centre has to play.

Ben's visit was timely as we prepare to launch a series of practical, hands-on workshops across our Centre, focused on building confidence in using AI tools responsibly and effectively in day-to-day work.

The emphasis is firmly on real use cases, getting comfortable with the tools, and making sure our people are equipped to work at the leading edge of a rapidly changing industry, with Belfast at the forefront!

Earlier this week our team was at the Ulster University Graduate Careers Fair, meeting students from across the university β€” including the School of Law, Ulster University, Northern Ireland and Ulster University Business School. We chatted through what a career at Baker McKenzie Belfast actually looks like and what life here is really like.

Some of the people we meet at these events go on to join our graduate programme, and there's something really special about being there at the very start of that journey.

Thanks to Brian, Emma and Fintan for representing us on the day! πŸŽ“

Our bGreen network β€” the sustainability-focused group here at our Belfast centre β€” hosted a Lunch & Learn session last month that took a slightly different approach to the usual lunchtime agenda.

The session covered everything from growing herbs at home and boosting garden biodiversity to keeping pets safe around common plants and tackling pests without reaching for the chemicals. Practical, genuinely useful stuff β€” and a nice reminder that the people who work here have interests and passions that go well beyond the day job.

Thanks to Rebecca B., Daniel Hendry and Robert Gillespie for organising! 🌱

As part of our International Women's Day programme earlier this year, we welcomed Annette Kelly from Little Penny Thoughts to our Belfast office for a session on mindset and positivity.

Annette's approach to personal growth and supporting one another felt like a natural fit for this year's IWD theme of Give to Gain, and it was a really well-received afternoon. The kind of event that stays with you after you leave the room.

We're launching something new β€” Good Company, a series of honest conversations between colleagues about their careers, their stories and what it's actually like to work at Baker McKenzie Belfast.
First up, Richard Cameron sits down with Niamh Doherty from our AML/ KYC team. Niamh arrived here with a psychology degree and plenty of uncertainty about what she was walking into β€” and what she found surprised her in the best way.

Two of the Baker Belfast team, Sarah Wilson and Adina Saratian, joined fellow EDI Leaders at a forum hosted at Allstate Northern Ireland and organised by Diversity Mark, focused on the EVAWG strategy β€” Ending Violence Against Women and Girls.

It was a really valuable space to share experiences and think about what more we can do as employers to support colleagues and raise awareness. We were glad to be able to share our own experience of having a Domestic Abuse Policy in place β€” something we put in place to ensure colleagues experiencing domestic or family abuse have a safe and supportive workplace to turn to.

Important work, and great to be part of the conversation. πŸ’œ

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, teammates from across Baker McKenzie Belfast took the opportunity to step away from their screens, put the phones away for a while, and head out for a walk and talk around the Maritime Mile.

A bit of fresh air, a change of pace, and time to reconnect with colleagues outside the day-to-day routine.

This Bank Holiday weekend, a number of our teammates will be taking on the Belfast Marathon, both as solo runners and as part of our relay teams, including Fintan Leech from our Talent Management team.

In this short video, Fintan shares how his team have been preparing and why the marathon has created such a buzz across the Belfast centre.

They’re running in support of PIPS Su***de Prevention Charity , a cause that means a great deal to us, and we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way.

Wishing all of our runners the very best for race day this Sunday.
