🚨 Saturday Call-Out – Loose Step Slabs

A weekend call-out to deal with loose slabs on an external set of steps, creating a potential trip hazard.

The affected slabs were lifted, the base cleaned and prepared, then the slabs were re-bedded and secured to make the steps safe again.

Keeping properties safe and maintained — even at the weekend. 🔧

🔨 Small Decking Repair – Bigger Problem Underneath

What started as a small decking repair quickly showed the real issue — the supporting timber frame underneath had deteriorated and was no longer giving the boards the support they needed.

The affected decking was lifted, the damaged section of framework was repaired and strengthened, then the composite boards were reinstated to leave the area secure and usable again.

A good example of why sometimes you need to look underneath before deciding on the repair.

🧼 I think I’ve found my new favourite job… steam cleaning!

The difference on these communal floors and stairwells speaks for itself.

Years of built-up dirt and grime were lifted from the textured flooring, bringing the original colour back through and leaving the whole area looking much fresher and cleaner.

A really satisfying job and a great example of how much of a difference a deep clean can make without replacing the flooring.

Another busy day of reactive maintenance completed 🔧

Today’s jobs included replacing a faulty electric radiator, adjusting 6 sticking bike store doors so they open and close correctly, clearing out rubbish that had been left inside the stores, and removing a rotten planter from the communal area.

A good mix of small repairs and site improvements — exactly the sort of jobs that help keep managed properties safe, tidy and working as they should.

Another decorating job completed ✅

This communal hallway had picked up plenty of scuffs, marks and cracking over time. We prepared the damaged areas, filled and made good where required, then repainted the walls to leave a much cleaner, fresher finish.

A simple refresh that makes a big difference to a communal space.

Another small improvement completed 🔨

The existing gate had seen better days, so we upgraded the entrance with a new timber gate and framework, properly braced and fitted with new ironmongery for a much stronger and cleaner finish.

A simple job, but a big improvement to the security and appearance of the property.

What started as a decking replacement turned into a full rebuild once the old bamboo boards were removed and the poorly installed frame underneath was exposed.

We removed the original structure and rebuilt it properly using treated timber, adjustable risers and protective decking tape. The area was then finished with modern, low-maintenance composite decking.

The result is a safer, stronger and much smarter outdoor space that the client can enjoy for years to come.

I want to thank Lee with Davis Transport Services for his help, once we found out the frame was not going to be useable I called Lee and he got me the joists I needed delivered the same day what a legend.

When you enjoy your job working a Saturday for a regular client is no problem.

We upgraded the bath and sink taps, fixed the flush on her toilet and refixed the sink to the wall.
