The pressures facing Welsh SMEs arenât theoretical, and todayâs North Wales Business Networking event showed just how urgent theyâve become.
APD attended the session at Coleg Cambria, Northop, hosted by the Federation of Small Businesses Wales, where Guest Speaker Dr Llyr ap Gareth, Head of Policy at FSB Wales, shared insights from their latest Big Small Business Survey for Wales.
One theme dominated the room:
Cash flow remains one of the biggest pressures holding Welsh SMEs back.
From procurement delays to cash flow strain, the survey highlighted that a significant proportion of businesses are still suffering from overdue invoices, a problem that directly affects stability, employment, and growth.
For APD, this is more than a statistic.
Itâs the reality we tackle every day for organisations across the UK mainland.
Our job is to ensure businesses donât lose momentum because someone else missed a payment deadline.
It was a valuable session with strong conversations around:
⢠48% of Welsh businesses still struggled with late payments
⢠Procurement barriers across Wales
⢠How evidence from the survey will be used to influence policy
⢠The need for more efficient, fair, and compliant recovery solutions
Great to connect with: Manuela Surgeon, Greg Grundy, Ray Smith, Tabitha Large.
Thank you to Dr Llyr ap Gareth and Michael Lermond for the insightful presentation and discussion.
APD continues to work closely with SMEs, legal partners, landlords and local authorities, helping organisations recover what theyâre owed while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical enforcement.
Civil enforcement and debt recovery redefined for a modern world.
