What is a Bloodline/Complex Will?

A bloodline Will is a way of planning one’s Will so that you leave part or all of your estate to your direct descendants. It includes a trust that ensures your assets will remain in your bloodline. This means that beneficiaries are typically children, grandchildren and further.

Typically, clients from a blended family will look for a bloodline Will. This is from families consisting of children from previous partners.
Whilst you would expect your estate to pass down to your grandchildren eventually, this is not the case. Things happen in life that may affect this sum, such as divorce.

As these assets are within a trust, the beneficiary does not technically own them. Therefore, it cannot be taken in a divorce or any other means.

Meet the team!

We thought we’d take this chance to put a face to the name, and introduce our two co-founders!

First off we have Matthew Korsak, Managing Director and co-founder of Clearpath. Matt has first hand industry experience having worked within the estate planning industry previously, and gained a Law and Business Finance LLB from the university of Buckingham. “We want to offer a clear, concise way for people to understand the benefits of later life planning and how they can best protect their assets without all the hidden fees and extortionate charges you can incur from traditional law firms”

Next we have Edward Smith, Chief Operations Officer and co founder. Edward has worked extensively in the technology sector building a wealth of experience managing sales and customer success teams, with specific experience working with legal and insurance entities. He is now sharpening his estate planning skills alongside Matt. “I’ve always loved working with people and pride myself on providing excellent customer service and support. I’m looking forward to helping remove some of complexities that plague the estate planning world, and making things really simple for people to understand”

Feel free to reach out to either of us any time with any questions and we look forward to meeting you all!

What is a lifetime trust?

Not everyone wants to wait until they die to pass on their assets to a loved one. Unlike trusts in wills, which take effect only after your death, a lifetime trust allows you to transfer the ownership of some or all of your assets to a trust while you are still alive. Those assets become the property of a lifetime trust which must be managed and looked after.

Lifetime trusts are a very effective way of setting aside some or all of your assets for a disabled or vulnerable person’s future care. These trusts can also be very tax-efficient and give you peace of mind that you can help your loved one in the way that best suits their needs. If you wish you can play a direct role as a trustee, safe in the knowledge that our experienced professionals are by your side to give all the support and legal insight that you need

Why Use Probate Services?

Probate is a legal process that is required when a person dies, involving the distribution of the deceased’s assets and property to their heirs and beneficiaries. Probate can be complex and time-consuming, as well as being emotionally taxing to the executors of the will. It is important to consider using a Probate expert to ensure that the process is handled properly & efficiently.

Using a Probate expert ensures that the deceased’s wishes are respected and their assets are distributed according to their Will and other legal documents. It can reduce disputes and ease the sensitive emotions that can arise. Using Probate services also ensures you have valuable expertise & guidance to ensure that all legal requirements are met.

Great day out at Banbury Mayors Day on Sunday getting a chance to speak to locals about all things Estate Planning!

It was a busy day meeting lots of other local businesses, spreading awareness around LPAs and trust options that many people aren’t aware of and providing some limited cover for the bursts of rain 🌧️

All in all, a great experience and looking forward to taking part again in the future 😁

What is an LPA? (Lasting Power of Attorney)

An LPA is a legal document that allows an individual to appoint someone they trust to make decisions on their behalf. Appointing an attorney is an important legal step that can provide peace of mind and protection for individuals who may become unable to make important decisions for themselves in the future due to illness, injury, or other circumstances.

Appointing an attorney can ensure that your wishes are respected and your best interests are protected if you become unable to make decisions for yourself. Without an LPA in place, important decisions about your health, welfare, property, and financial affairs may be left in the hands of the Court of Protection who may not know your wishes

LPA documents are a powerful way to make sure your financial and health affairs are dealt with by people you chose instead of the government. Most people don’t realise that if a doctor deems you have lost capacity, and even though you have a spouse or children as next of kin, the government body, the Court of Protection, will take over your care needs and your money management. Let us draft and register Lasting Power of Attorney documents in place for you to make sure this doesn’t happen
