Genuinely Gina To live a genuine life, the first simple idea is to realise that everything starts with you. Everything starts with you including making the way forward.

Spiritual awakening is remembering that we can live a free, fearless, powerful life. From the moment you open your eyes and start your day, every second of every day you are the key to the quality of your life, you are the common denominator: you take yourself wherever you go. The second is understanding that everything you do is a choice. How you think is your choice. Whatever you choose to do โ€“ or say, even not choosing is a choice. Every choice has consequences. If you choose to do nothing differently your life will carry on in the same old way. It is absolutely your choice. Do you want to stay stuck where you are or are you ready for something different, something better?

Iโ€™m excited to be featured in the Raise Your Leadership Free Interview Series, where I had the opportunity to explore what it means to break through the barriers that can hold us back and lead with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

In this conversation, we look at the importance of challenging limitations, recognising our potential, and having the courage to step forward, be seen, and lead authentically.

Thank you to Renae Duncan, MBA for hosting this conversation. I hope it inspires you to reflect on your own leadership journey and consider what might be possible when you stop letting perceived limitations define what you can achieve.

"Necessity is the mother of invention."

Becoming a principal shortly after acquiring a disability required a complete pivot in my approach to leadership. Unable to physically enter classrooms as often as before, I had to move away from traditional presence-based leading and focus on empowering my staff and students.

The result?

1. A strong, cohesive team culture

2. Becoming one of the UKโ€™s first Beacon Schools

3. Recognized among the top 100 schools in the UK twice during my tenure

True leadership isn't about control; it's about building an environment where others can thrive.

Watch the clip above for a brief reflection from my recent conversation on the Salem Speakers Podcast.

A little time away can be such a wonderful reminder to slow down and enjoy whatโ€™s right in front of us.

Thereโ€™s something special about exploring somewhere new, wandering through unfamiliar streets, discovering little corners of a town, and simply having the freedom to take the day as it comes. Itโ€™s not always about having a big plan or seeing every landmark. Sometimes, the best memories come from the simplest moments: a good conversation, a shared laugh, a quiet coffee, or stopping for a photo along the way.

Life can become so busy that we forget to make space for experiences that have nothing to do with work, deadlines, or responsibilities. Taking time to step away, recharge, and enjoy the company of others is just as important as everything else on our to-do list.

Hereโ€™s a little reminder to make room for adventure, connection, and those unexpected moments that make life feel a little lighter.

Sometimes, you donโ€™t need to go far to find a new perspective. You just need to give yourself permission to pause and enjoy the journey.

It wasnโ€™t the biggest argument.

It wasnโ€™t dramatic.
It wasnโ€™t even supposed to become a difficult conversation.

It was just one of those moments where two people were trying to explain themselves at the same time.

And somehow, neither person felt heard.

Looking back, I wish I had slowed down.

I wish I had listened without preparing my response.

I wish I had asked what they meant instead of assuming I already knew.

Because sometimes, the words we hear are not the words someone intended to say.

And sometimes, the words we choose are not really what we mean either.

We are tired.
We are frustrated.
We are carrying things we havenโ€™t talked about.

And then one small conversation becomes the place where everything else comes out.

At the time, I thought I was defending myself.

Now I wonder if I was simply trying to be understood.

Thereโ€™s a difference.

When you feel misunderstood, it is easy to speak louder.

To explain more.

To bring up every example you can think of.

To prove that your feelings are justified.

But being right does not always bring you closer to someone.

Sometimes, what the conversation actually needs is a pause.

A breath.

A little more curiosity.

A willingness to say, โ€œThatโ€™s not what I meant. Let me try again.โ€

Because some conversations cannot be redone.

You cannot go back and choose a softer sentence.

You cannot erase the moment your frustration became someone elseโ€™s hurt.

But you can learn from the version of yourself who was in that conversation.

You can notice what made you react.

You can understand what you were trying to protect.

You can take responsibility without turning regret into punishment.

And maybe that is the part we forget.

The goal is not to become someone who never says the wrong thing.

It is to become someone who knows how to repair what happened after they did.

Because sometimes growth is not about having better conversations the first time.

Sometimes it is about becoming brave enough to have the second conversation.

The one where you listen.

The one where you explain without attacking.

The one where you say what you should have said before.

And sometimes, the conversation you wish you could redo becomes the conversation that teaches you how to communicate differently from then on.

So hereโ€™s the question:

What would you say differently if you could have that conversation one more time?

In this eye-opening episode, Marta Czajkowska, a nervous system trainer and lifelong alpinist, explores how we can create greater capacity in a world of constant overwhelm. From growing up in communist Poland and arriving in San Francisco at eighteen with just $200 and a dream, to climbing some of the world's biggest walls, Marta shares how putting ourselves in difficult situations expands our capacity to handle life itself. Drawing on her journey from the mountains into nervous system coaching, she explains why real, lasting change can only happen when we are in a regulated state, not stuck in survival, fear, or shutdown, and why modern life and the rise of AI have shrunk the space we once had to rest, process, and decompress. Marta offers practical tools for regulating the nervous system, auditing an overloaded schedule, finding your "full body yes," and understanding people pleasing not as a flaw but as a trainable nervous system response we can gently rewire. This powerful conversation is a must-listen for leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, professionals, and anyone interested in resilience, emotional regulation, personal growth, authentic living, and learning how to thrive rather than merely survive in a fast-paced world.

In this deeply moving episode, Renee Giarrusso, founder of RG Dynamics, leadership and communication expert, author, and keynote speaker, explores how we can embrace challenges as a catalyst for growth in a fast-paced, AI-driven world. Drawing on more than 20 years developing limitless leaders and her own profound journey through stage 3 aggressive breast cancer, Renee shares why human skills like trust, connection, and emotional intelligence are the things no machine can replace, and why picking up the phone still matters more than ever. She speaks candidly about acceptance, identity, and the difference between surviving and truly thriving, revealing how she moved beyond resilience to living limitlessly by asking not "why me" but "what can I learn and how can I help others." Renee also unpacks practical tools for navigating relentless change, from balancing the head, heart, and gut to recognising change fatigue and anchoring to what stays the same. This inspiring conversation is a must-listen for leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, professionals, and anyone interested in mindset, personal growth, emotional resilience, authentic leadership, and finding the gift inside life's hardest moments.

In this interview, I explore what it means to bust through the glass ceiling, challenge the barriers that can hold us back, and step into leadership with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose. We talk about recognising our own potential, overcoming limiting beliefs, and having the courage to be seen and lead authentically.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share some of my experiences and perspectives, and I hope this conversation encourages you to reflect on your own leadership journey and the possibilities that open up when youโ€™re willing to step beyond your perceived limitations.

Thank you to Renae Duncan, MBA for hosting such a meaningful conversation.

In this compelling episode, Daniel Kapadia, a broadcaster, performance coach, sports to business expert, and entrepreneur, explores how competition becomes one of the most powerful tools for self-reflection and personal growth. From discovering video games as a child seeking self-esteem, to becoming a professional esports player at 16, to commentating in arenas of 20,000 people, Daniel shares why learning to lose well is a skill, how our rivals are often our greatest teachers, and why discomfort is where the real rewards in life are found. Drawing on over 20 years of high-performance competition and his work coaching leaders and entrepreneurs, he unpacks the four stages of mastery, the difference between healthy confidence and overconfidence, and why culture, buy-in, and emotional vulnerability define teams that thrive rather than implode. This insightful conversation is a must-listen for leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, athletes, gamers, and anyone interested in performance psychology, resilience, self-mastery, authentic leadership, and understanding the mindset that turns failure into growth.

Sometimes, we simply need to pause.

I wanted to share a little glimpse of the beautiful place Iโ€™m staying this weekend, with the stunning scenery of Lake Windermere and a rare moment of peace and quiet.

In the middle of busy days, itโ€™s easy to forget to slow down and simply take in whatโ€™s around us. So, take a couple of minutes, breathe, and enjoy the view. Let this be your little reminder that itโ€™s okay to pause, reset, and give yourself a moment of calm.
