With children now settled back in school, a return to routine after the summer break can bring issues into focus and mark the end of a relationship if tensions have built over the holidays.

When a marriage breaks down, one of the most urgent considerations is usually child arrangements – where they will live, when they will see each parent and how decisions concerning the children will be made.

In our latest blog, our family law solicitor, Zoe Poole, covers some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about child arrangements following a separation, including what to decide on first, what happens if an agreement can’t be reached, Child Arrangement Orders and how to prepare for your first meeting with a solicitor.

What does a conveyancer do?

Most people know that they need to appoint a conveyancer when buying or selling a property but their exact role in the process is often less understood.

Whilst our primary responsibility is to handle the legal side of the transaction, a conveyancer also helps to ensure the process is as smooth as possible, explaining jargon, communicating with other parties, representing your best interests and identifying any issues that might arise.

Choosing the right conveyancer is key to ensuring a smooth, efficient experience when selling or purchasing a home.

In our latest blog, our conveyancing executive, James Fraser, outlines the role of a conveyancer, when and how to instruct a firm and the steps involved in the process.

Buying or selling a home is a complex process and to help you navigate it, you will need to instruct a qualified solicitor or conveyancer to handle the legal side of the transaction.
