How much could you afford in Spain as a non-resident? 🇪🇸
When applying for a mortgage in Spain, banks look at more than just your income. Your existing debts, financial stability, country of residence and overall financial profile will all influence how much you can borrow.
For this example, we’ve calculated the figures based on:
• Up to 70% financing
• 35% debt-to-income ratio
• 25-year mortgage term
• 3.5% illustrative interest rate
• No other outstanding debts
For example, with a €5,000 net monthly income, a 35% debt ratio allows for an estimated monthly payment of €1,750. Under these assumptions, this could support financing of approximately €350,000 — equivalent to a property price of around €500,000 at 70% financing.
These figures are illustrative. Every mortgage application is assessed individually and actual conditions will vary depending on the bank and the buyer’s financial profile.
