Today is my 23rd birthday.
To be honest, 22 has been quite a challenging and yet rewarding year.
Despite everything that's going on in the world, I feel like I have achieved and learned so much about who I am and where I want to go as a professional.
At 22 I:
-graduated as a professional translator and interpreter
-took a 4-month long legal translation course, a 4-month long economic and finance translation course and a 'family Law for translators’ course
-followed a 3-month long mentoring program for freelance translators
-signed up as a freelance translator
-interpreted for Got Talent Spain
-translated legal documents for agencies in Europe and America
Needless to say, times are rough for everyone. However, I proudly believe that every step I have taken has led me to where I am today.
Next week I will start a new in-house position at my dream translation agency. I look forward to learning and gaining insight into our industry from a company’s perspective.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me at 22: my dear teachers, tutors, mentors, colleagues, and every single person who has supported or helped me along the way.
It’s an absolute pleasure to learn from the best professionals out there.
I can’t wait to see what being 23 holds for me.
